ISO 9001:2000
The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) published the new
edition of ISO 9001 in December 2000, which replaces the 1994 edition of the
ISO 9001 standards as well as ISO 9002 and ISO 9003.
The revised quality management standard balances system-based experience from previous editions with emerging insights into a process-oriented structure. The new standard takes a more generic approach towards all industry sectors rather than the manufacturing based style of the previous editions. The structure of the new ISO 9001:2000 standard takes on the model of Plan, Do, Check, Act based on the Quality Management System Principles of Dr. Deming.
AS 9100
Quality management standard for the aerospace industry. AS 9100 standard is
designed to meet stringent, complex and unique demands of the defense and
commercial aerospace industry.
Similar to ISO 9001, AS 9100 specifies additional requirements for the quality system of the aerospace industry.
