Tom Scroggin is the owner of Advanced Quality Water Jet, LLC. During the past 25-years in the field of manufacturing and Quality, he has received several Quality-Profession certifications from ASQ (CQT, CQE, CQA and CQM), ASNT Level -III and RAB and IRCA Lead Auditor for Quality Systems (ISO9001:2000 and AS9100 AIEA), RAB auditor for ISO 14001.
For the past fifteen years, he has been an ISO9001:2000, AS9100 and ISO14001 Lead Auditor certified by RAB and IATCA. In addition to these certifications, he holds a BS degree in Applied Management, AS degree in Quality and metallurgy and obtained a TQM Professional designation and an International Trade and Commerce designation; both from UCLA.
Tom was a Quality Assurance consultant for training, implementing and auditing quality management systems. He has held Quality Director positions at companies like Clarent and Fairchild.
Over the course of his career, he has worked in the Aerospace, Automotive, Electronics and Telecommunications as well as other industries. In 1995, he was a Malcolm Baldridge Nation Quality Program Examiner for the State of California. As an auditor, Tom contracts to several registrars as an ISO Lead Auditor, an AIEA Aerospace Auditor and an Environmental Auditor. Tom is also one of only a few certified Business Improvement auditors. For RAB, Tom is also a certified Skills Examiner.
Since 1997, Tom has made over 50 trips to Mainland China, most for business. In China, he negotiated contracts and resolved Engineering and Quality issues. He spent significant time in China working with various factories there and was a speaker at the First US/ China Quality Conference in 1998. In 2001 and again in 2004, Tom organized and chaired the China-America Quality Conference in Beijing and now specializes in doing business and quality in China. Tom was also a speaker at the Quality conference in Shanghai. Tom has studied Chinese culture, history and language at UCLA and can speak basic Mandarin. Tom volunteers his time to the International Scholar Laureate Program helping students from the USA to better understand Chinese business.
